Selecting the Instrument

MSR's staff of experienced string players will assist with getting the right size instrument and taking care of any special needs the student or teacher may have.

Rental Agreement

To begin renting an instrument a parent, guardian or other responsible adult need only complete a rental contract and provide basic credit information. If credit card information cannot be provided, a security deposit is required. Minimum rental is two months, for which we bill up front. Following that we bill monthly. Automatic credit card payment is offered at a discounted rate. The contract may be canceled at any time, and billing will end when the instrument is returned.

Before renting, please read over the information on this page and contact us with any questions. Then, fill out the two forms below and mail or fax them to our office. Once they are received, a rental and sales representative will respond as soon as possible to schedule your new rental.

Maintenance

Routine maintenance is included free of charge for all our rental instruments. Routine maintenance covers cleaning, adjusting of pegs, tailgut, tuners, and soundpost. New strings and bow rehairs are not covered under routine maintenance and are the responsibility of the renter. Please refer to our guide to proper care of your rental instrument.

Please note that MSR will not cover maintenance for damage caused by neglect, accident, fire, theft, or any change to the instrument other than normal wear and tear. Rental Instruments are not insured by MSR. MSR encourages all renters to seek damage and loss coverage on their homeowners' or renters' insurance policies; we will provide an appraisal free of charge to facilitate this.

Rental Fee

Your rental fee includes the instrument, a protective case, bow, and written tips for proper care. View our price list.

Receiving Your Instrument

Instruments are delivered right to your door, ready to play, for a nominal charge. (Fees vary by location.) In addition, we will perform size checks on-site or pick up the instrument if you should need to return it for any reason.

Trade-in Policy

Our trade-in policy is liberal. You may switch instruments or sizes as needed for a nominal restocking charge, provided your instrument is returned in good, rentable condition.

Our Guarantee

Midwest String Rentals is devoted to bringing our customers the highest quality and service standards at truly competitive rates. Should a problem occur due to defective merchandise or setup, Midwest String Rentals will cover all associated expenses, including adjustment or replacement and pickup and delivery.
